About COME GET ME

Andrew McWhirter is a Commercial Pilot and has over 20 years experience as a Search and Rescue (SAR) Coordinator, Pilot and Emergency Manager in Australia. He has coordinated Search and Rescue incidents across some of the world's most inhospitable environments. Numerous Southern Ocean yacht rescues, Sydney to Hobart yacht race disaster in 1998 or even Steve Fossett's solo balloon World Circumnavigation crash near Noumea are several high-level search actions that Andrew has been involved.

Andrew has led teams at the highest coordination level as a SAR Mission Coordinator with the Queensland Police Service, searching for missing persons in many land and marine environments, and as an Aviation Senior SAR Coordinator with Australian Search and Rescue (AusSAR), Australia’s national SAR Authority.

Andrew has a passion to assist those in the community who suffer an accident or fall prey to situations beyond their control. COME GET ME was developed to give re-assurance and support to those who need it by letting them know that help is on its way, and guidance and direction for those who receive it.

“If this saves the life of one abducted child, provides reassurance to a mother or father in distress, saves a young lady from an unwanted assault, or re-unites two soldiers in the field, then the COME GET ME has been worthwhile.”
